You may change your password at any time. The first time you log into the retrieval system, you must change your password, unless your system administrator turned off this requirement.
If this is your initial log-in, you will go directly to the Change Password screen in step 2. Otherwise, if you are voluntarily changing your password, click the Change Password link on the log-in screen.
At the Change Password screen, type in your user ID in the first text box, then press the Tab key to go to the next field.
In the second text box, type in your old (i.e., current) password, then press Tab.
In the third text box, type in a new
password, then press Tab.
Note—Unless your administrator changed the default settings,
passwords cannot match the user's ID or customer name, and cannot be empty.
In the last text box, retype your new password to confirm.
If you make a mistake, click the Reset link to clear all the text boxes and start again. Or, if you decide not to change your password at this point, click the Back to Login link to go back to the log-in page. Otherwise, click the Update button, or press Enter, to complete the password change. If successful, you will be logged into the system.
You should be aware of the password rules described below. Contact your administrator for details.
Password longevity - Length of time (in days) that a password remains valid before it must be changed; may be set to infinite
Change password on first log-in - A setting that identifies whether or not users must change their password the first time they log in
Log-in attempts allowed - Number of times a user can enter an incorrect password before being locked out
Lockout
duration - Length of time (in hours) that a user remains locked
out following the maximum log-in attempts allowed, after which the account
is then automatically unlocked; may be set to infinite
Note—If an administrator locks
a user out manually, lockout duration does not apply
Password history length - The number of different password entries required in a user's password history before password reuse is allowed; for example, if set to three, the user cannot repeat a password until the fourth entry
Minimum password length - The minimum number of characters required for a valid user password
